From Princes Dock to Pacific Quay
This album shows the transformation of the area on the south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow from a busy international dock area through a period of dereliction to a temporary Festival area in the summer of 1988 then to media and leisure area in the early years of the 21st Century.

Following the closure of the 1988 Garden Festival some areas of the former docks and quays were developed quite quickly but others remained unchanged 20 years later in 2008. The first areas to be developed were those closest to the river side- General Terminus and its upstream neighbour, Springfield Quay were devloped into a leisure and recreation complex. The western part of General Terminus and Mavisbank Quay as far as the South Rotunda of the former harbour tunnel were turned into the Mavisbank Gardens residential area with a mixture of low and high rise buildings - some of these can be seen in the right side of this picture.
