This view shows the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry Suilven, which served on the Ullapool - Stornoway route from 1974 - 1995, alongside the Berth No 85. This berth was part of the original Plantation Quay but was separated from the upstream part of the Quay when the Princes Dock was created. Thereafter, the berth became associated with the operation of the Govan Graving Docks. However, it continued to be known as No 85 Plantation Quay. Suilven has berthed there after leaving the No 2 Drydock, which she had visited for annual overhaul by ClydeDock Engineering Ltd.
Suilven was sold to New Zealand interests in 1995 and spent a few years sailing on the Cook Strait services. In 2004 she moved to Suva in the Pacific Ocean from which she provided sailings to Taveuni. A History of the ship can be studied at
